LUIS FIGUEROA, is the multi-talented four-time GRAMMY ® nominated Puerto Rican American singer-songwriter and one of the most promising artists of the decade. He solidified his status as the leading voice and star of the Salsa movement reinvigorating the tropical music genre for new audiences. From child talent to YouTube stardom, the Philadelphia-born native’s journey has taken him to some of the most prestigious stages around the world, working alongside some of the greatest industry icons. A graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, he toured as a backing vocalist for Romeo Santos. He generated incredible buzz after duetting on “Flor Pálida” with Marc Anthony at the 2016 Premios Juventud. He performed on the international smash “Por Perro” (2018) with lead artist Sebastián Yatra and Lary Over, surpassing 700 million views on YouTube. In February 2021, he surprised his fans with an EP of original material recorded at home titled 1807 and was nominated as Best Latin Pop Artist for the HTV Heat Awards. Luis scored his first #1 hit on Billboard with the single “Hasta El Sol De Hoy” in July 2021; it also topped the Mediabase and monitorLATINO US tropical charts. Follow-up single “Si Tú Me Dices Ven” became his second consecutive top 10 hit, and Billboard selected Luis as part of their Latin Artist on the Rise series for these chart achievements. Luis was nominated for his first two Premio Lo Nuestro awards in 2022 for “Tropical Artist of the Year” and “Tropical Song of the Year,” solidifying his status as one of the leading voices and rising stars of the salsa genre. His self-titled second studio album, Luis Figueroa, released in May 2022, is a collection of songs that represent the different phases of falling in love, complete with a tropical energy of percussion and trombones while highlighting his dynamic vocals. The album spawned three #1 tropical hit singles, including “Todavía Te Espero”, “Vienes”, and “Fiesta Contigo” all written by Luis. The album received two Latin GRAMMY ® and three Premio Lo Nuestro nominations and was selected by Billboard as one of “The 22 Best Latin Albums of 2022”. Luis continues to push boundaries and redefine the salsa genre on his latest release, Coexistencia. The album brings an evolution of tropical music blending urban sounds and rock elements; a fusion of styles, essence, musicality and voice that elevate the sound of salsa. Following the success of his GRAMMY ® nominated album, Voy A Ti he continues his versatility with a fresh sound that will leave a lasting mark in the history of tropical music. “La Luz” became his sixth consecutive top 10 hit on the Billboard Tropical Airplay chart and his single, “Bandido” crowned the chart for two consecutive weeks, the only salsa song in 2023 to top the Billboard charts.
